They look great. I just found out that the Sony Playstation 3 practically can play everything incl. Blue-Ray, so I might go for that this summer. Anybody know whether you need a HD-TV - set for that?? I'm still so happy with my 100Hz tube.
Anyway, is the Blue-Ray as dark as the DVD? Looks like. Just like BULLITT, it has a better overall look (than the first generation DVD's), but the images are just too dark. I feel. |

No, the image when seen 'in the flesh' isn't that dark; the colours are better overall, lovely blue skies. It's lost that brown look of the SD DVD, if anything it could be said to lean towards red, particularly on flesh tones, but that's not a criticism - the general's car finally looks as it should, and all that blood...
It's a definite step-up, not just in terms of resolution. |

John is right, my screwy' captures don't do the transfer justice. The Blu-ray is a big step up. Make sure whatever you get to watch the Blu-rays on is a full 1080p resolution display. Even The Getaway, which didn't get as good a transfer as The Wild Bunch, is an improvement over the DVD release. There are more and more Blu-ray players out there and the prices are starting to come down. I play mine through a computer but for a stand alone player, the PS3's are supposed to be pretty close to the best of the bunch I believe

it's about time :)
Without you, it would / could only be a 50% job here... But NATE is the guy to congratulate. It really was about time for a new forum / website and he learned by himself what he had to learn to make it work.. Back in 1995 when I received mail from you for the firsttime, I was so happy to meet a fellow Sam - fan. Since then we went quite a long way, 'produced some stuff along the way as well. Now here's the chance for Sam-fans from all over the world to meet - 'hope by x-mas we have 250 members! |

Thanks for the kind words! Mike and I are in total agreement: I'm hoping to get around 250 members by the end of the year! Mike's enthusiasm is infectious and working on this forum has allowed me to feed my Peckinpah obsession and that makes it a win/ win all around. ;D
