Title: Peckinpah at Trailers from hell
Post by Gashade on 08/08/11 at 8:39am
I just love Joe DanteŽs project Trailers from hell. I tought IŽd post the Peckinpah trailers that have been commented so far, to draw the attention of those who would happen not to know about the site yet...

I was just going to post that! Trailers From Hell is trying to raise some funds via Kickstarter to expand their site and visibility. They have some cool things you get if you donate.

Still, I beleive it's worth donating even if they didn't give out anything (although a lunch with Joe Dante or your script read by Josh Olson would be pretty awesome)...

This week on Trailers from Hell is dedicated to Sam.
And Josh Olson comments on Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid:

Thanks for posting!
Enthusiastic, but I think he got some of the facts wrong. For instance, involved people told me Sam pissed on the screen watching messed up dailies (camera defect) on location in Durango - not attending a screening of the film in LA. That surely makes a difference..

Yes, sure, he's more into the myth of it.

When I want to see 'the myth' I watch John Belushi playing Sam :).
Apropos, aujourd'hui je commence par une nouveau Blu-ray edition d'ALFREDO GARCIA :).

Will it be different from the Twilight Time BR?

What's the version that he says Pauline Kael and Martin Scorsese attended that he implies is different from the Turner cut?

In The Authentic Death and Contentious Afterlife of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Paul Seydor writes that they saw the film in some form or another before the two previews. At that point, apparently, the scene in Jones's Saloon where Garrett kills Holly was intercut with the one at Horrell's Trading Post where the Kid kills Alamosa Bill.

Strange coincidence: ALbert Dekker died in May 1968. AL Mullock died in in May 1968. WILD BUNCH and ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST were filmed during the same time, Sam & Sergio...
